Spicy pepper | The story of Mariska
Mariska works at Pineut in the Production House via Stroomopwaarts. She first worked in another department, but eventually ended up at Pineut. Now she helps every day to make the products with care and attention.
How did you end up at Pineut?
I had been working at Stroomopwaarts in another department for a while. After some time, I started working at Pineut in the Production House. There, I help make the products. It’s nice to see how all the ingredients come together into a beautiful product.
What do you do at Pineut?
I often put ingredients into the packaging. For example, the sprigs of herbs in the vinaigrette. I also fold a lot of bags. They need to be opened up first before they can be filled. That work suits me well because I have small hands. It makes it easy for me to do it neatly and carefully.
What is your favorite product?
I like products with sweet ingredients the most. For example, when there are pieces of stroopwafel in them. That always smells really nice too! I’m less fond of products with something spicy. Once we worked with chili peppers for the vinaigrette, and that smelled very strong. Sometimes it even made my nose tingle a bit! Then I prefer working with stroopwafel or chocolate.
What would you do if you were the boss of Pineut for a day?
That’s a difficult question! Maybe I would start the day calmly by checking how everything is going in the Production House. But honestly, I think I would also enjoy having a relaxed day. Maybe just doing nothing for a bit, haha.
