Deliciously socially responsible. Here's how we do it.

At Pineut, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to participate. Our mission is to create more than just delicious products with every item we sell—we strive to create meaningful social impact. We do this by providing employment opportunities for people facing barriers to the labour market and by partnering with organisations that share our commitment to social and environmental responsibility.

Sustainable development goals

The foundation of our impact strategy is the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We have chosen to focus on three of the 17 global goals:

SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth
SDG 10 – Reduced Inequalities
SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production

These are the areas where we intentionally focus our efforts, as we believe they are where we can create the greatest positive and lasting impact.

Theory of Change

In addition, we have developed our own Theory of Change—a framework that keeps us focused on our mission and the impact we strive to create.

Our Commitment to Equal Opportunities and Inclusion

Equal opportunities, respect, and inclusion are not separate initiatives at Pineut—they are the foundation of how we work. That is why we have formally set out our commitment to Justice, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (JEDI) in this public statement.

At Pineut, we treat everyone with respect, fairness, and dignity. We are committed to creating a workplace where differences are valued and where everyone feels welcome, safe, and heard.

Our Commitment

We are committed to:

Justice – We strive to create fair opportunities and, wherever possible, remove barriers that limit participation or personal development.

Equity – We recognise that people have different needs and starting points. We provide the support needed to help create equal opportunities for everyone.

Diversity – We value people from different backgrounds, with different experiences, perspectives, and talents, because we believe diversity strengthens our organisation.

Inclusion – We create an environment where everyone can be themselves, feels respected, and is encouraged to contribute.

How We Put This Commitment into Practice

Our JEDI principles apply across everything we do and guide our day-to-day decisions and ways of working. This means we:

  • Foster an inclusive, safe, and respectful working environment for all employees.
  • Promote equal opportunities in recruitment, selection, development, and career progression.
  • Actively work to reduce bias and exclusion in our policies and processes.
  • Treat customers, suppliers, partners, and all other stakeholders with respect and fairness.
  • Collaborate with organisations and partners who share our social values.
  • Regularly review and improve our inclusive practices.

Responsibility

Pineut's management team fully endorses this JEDI commitment and is responsible for its implementation, execution, and regular evaluation. Management ensures these principles are embedded in our policies, business operations, and decision-making processes, while encouraging continuous improvement wherever needed.

A Continuous Journey

Inclusion is not a destination but an ongoing journey. We will continue to listen, learn, and improve, ensuring that Pineut remains a place where everyone feels welcome and has equal opportunities to contribute, grow, and thrive.

Our Climate Action Plan

At Pineut, we believe that small steps can make a big difference. That is why we work every day to reduce our impact on people and the planet. Our Climate Action Plan outlines how we will turn this ambition into concrete action over the coming years.

The plan sets out our climate goals, the actions we are taking to reduce our CO₂ emissions, and how we work together with suppliers to make our value chain more sustainable. From improving packaging and logistics to responsible sourcing and reducing Scope 3 emissions, we are making our ambitions measurable and actionable.

Statement on Lobbying Activities

Pineut does not engage in lobbying activities directed at governments, political parties, or policymakers. We do not use employees, financial resources, or other means to influence legislation, public policy, or political decision-making. As a result, we do not have a separate lobbying policy.

Pineut is a member of Social Enterprise NL. This membership is intended to promote knowledge sharing, collaboration, and the development of the social enterprise sector. While Social Enterprise NL represents the interests of the sector, Pineut does not actively participate in lobbying activities and does not provide the organisation with specific lobbying mandates or political positions on its behalf.

Our Principles

We are committed to the following principles:

  • Pineut supports only activities that contribute to positive social and environmental impact.
  • Pineut bases its positions and communications on reliable information and, wherever possible, on facts and scientific evidence.
  • Pineut does not make financial or in-kind contributions to political parties, political candidates, or election campaigns.
  • Pineut operates a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption and bribery and expects the same standard from its employees and business partners.
  • When participating in industry associations or professional networks, Pineut ensures that its involvement remains aligned with its mission, values, and social objectives.

Governance

Pineut's management team is responsible for overseeing these principles. As Pineut does not engage in lobbying activities, the risks of inappropriate lobbying or political influence are considered to be minimal. Any concerns or questions regarding compliance with these principles can be raised through Pineut's standard complaints or contact procedures.

Should the nature of our activities change in the future and Pineut decide to engage in lobbying, a formal lobbying policy will be developed, approved by the management team, and published on our website.
