How do you make it?

Start by adding a clear spirit, such as vodka or dry gin. Make sure it contains at least 30% alcohol. Do not use whisky, as this will have little effect. Note the bottling date and the type of spirit on the label. If possible, make use of any leftover spirits you already have at home.
Once filled, store your bottle in a cool, dark place. The wood chips will gradually release their smoky whisky flavour and warm colour. Taste it from time to time to discover how the flavour develops. The process usually takes about eight weeks, but you can also experiment by leaving it to mature longer.
After eight weeks, your whisky-style drink is ready to enjoy. Filter it, or pour carefully, to ensure no wood chips end up in your glass. And remember – never eat the wood chips.

The wood chips inside the bottle come from shredded Scotch whisky barrels that have been used for decades to mature whisky. Though small, they are packed with smoky whisky character, gradually released as the spirit infuses – like ageing your drink in a whisky barrel, but in a fraction of the time.
